Conclusion

I’ve said it in the past and I’ll say it again. No other diecast brand offers the value that Classic Carlectables does. I got this Monaro for around 105CAD including taxes and shipping, which is close to what I pay for AA Millenium models (around 100CAD). However, the CC has way more details. This model doesn’t have any “gimmicks” (like working windows), but the details are exemplary and worth a spot in any racecar collector’s collection.

Summary and Scoring

  Exterior
Almost perfect. Only marred by the hood problem.
  9.0
  Wheels and Tires
Good rims, adequate brakes, great tires, amazing undercarraige.
  8.0

Interior
Another home run, except for the weird colour of the wood trim.

  9.0

Engine
Kick butt details, no one does it better than CC at this price point.

  Score
(weighted average with emphasis placed on exterior and interior)
